Summer of 2012; <3
Oh yes, it is finally that time of the year again. That blessed season filled with nothing but partys and sunshine. Its a worry free time, absent of all tests, homework, and rude teachers. Its a time that all people look forward to. But, for this summer to officially begin and reign as the greatest of all summers, I have compiled a sort of “To-do” list of things that should go down during this epic time of merriment…
1.) Seize all of your extra time and dedicate it to something interesting. Maybe a new hobby of sorts, just go out and learn something new, not because you are being forced but because you generally want to. Learn how to play a new card game, or actually perform a decent cart-wheel. That way, by the end of summer, you will actualy feel like you accomplished something, even if that something is finally burping your abc’s.
2.) Visit as many new places as possible. The open road is yours for the taking. It doesn’t have to be far away, nor does it have to take alot of money. Just round up a group of your closest friends, pack a picnic, and head out. This can be planned, or completely random. Buy a map of our surroundings, and go exploring. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a cool new hangout spot, or maybe you’ll find some buried treasure. Or maybe you’ll run into bigfoot. Just saying, finding bigfoot=successful summer. Anyways, wherever you end up, you can end the summer happy you actually went somewhere new.
3.) Spend lots of time outdoors. This point sort of echoes #2, except more benefits could be reaped. The warm, bright sunny weather is the perfect time to throw on those tank tops and head out and get that perfect, all natural tan you’ve been wanting. Plus, soaking up that precious Vitamin D has awesome effects on your mood and skin. And, a little fresh air never hurt anyone. Oh, and all of this extra time outside is the perfect oppurtunity to get your friends together for a mega-huge game of hide and go seek. And you might even loose a few pounds from all that exercise you were getting without even knowing it. (Hello, cute new jeans!)
4.) Throw a party. This summer would be the best time to fufill that childhood dream of throwing the most awesomemest party that everyone is still talking about by the time school starts back. Thats right, that one party that perfectly combine all elements of the exciting teenage life; music, food, friends, and possibly drug paraphernalia. (if your that wild type of partyer) You could finally talk to that girl you’ve been eyeing, or get that guy you think is super cute to finally notice you. And if you can’t throw a party, atleast attend one, and expand that social bubble to include more than your cat.
5.) Relax and have fun. This is the most important task that should be on everyone’s summer to-do list. No matter where you go, what you do, or who you see, the key is to have fun! Life is to short to stress over all of the small things. You may have summer work for that really hard class next year, or SAT’s to study for, or a new fall semester to plan for, but you should still set aside an hour a day to kicking off those shoes and just chilling. Summer only comes around once a year, so take the time and make the best of it.
I hope this list conjures up some ideas of things you want to do this summer. Have fun soaking up that sun!
